Blogging for beginners: my first teaching gig done and dusted!

Look! I’m so famous!!!

This morning marked my first blogging class.

It went for almost three hours and it was an introductory look at blogs and social media.

I had a small but engaged and active audience who questioned me constantly and really seemed to be enjoying themselves and learning lots.

(Okay, I know they were, I got pretty kick-ass feedback forms!!)

It’s an amazing thing being really knowledgeable on a subject. An expert almost.

They were asking questions and I knew all the answers – and more – and it was an amazing feeling.

I did feel a bit bad though as I wasn’t practising what I preached.

That whole ‘make sure you blog reguarly’ and here I am, my last post in August?!

Guess you kids don’t want to hear excuses so instead, here’s what I’ve been up to:
-Getting ready for this course
-Finishing the study period (aka semester) for uni and starting the next: the day after
-Starting with a new babysitting client
-Planning a long weekend away with one of my best mates. We’re going to go crazy, Broadway style! In Adelaide. Now, don’t judge, people. The lovely Lia Weston lives there! Can’t wait to catch up with her.
-Making life-changing decisions

Yes, that’s right boys and girls, life-changing decisions.

Obviously because I am mean I’m not going to tell you know, but stay tuned! VERY exciting – and major - news ahead!

What’s new in your life?

Side note: If you’re interested in learning more about blogs and social media, you can come to my intermediate course (you don’t need to have come to the beginner course). It runs over five weeks and covers heaps of stuff!

Call the Living and Learning Centre Nillumbik (in Melbourne, northern suburbs) for details/bookings.

  1. I have just found this blog and so far I love what I’ve read.

I can’t wait to hear what these life changing decisions are. I love reading about literature, especially when you can hear ‘the person’ behind the voice. It’s what makes it personal and that is what makes it meaningful. You can really hear your passion for what you do. I really do hope you continue to blog regularly and as you say ‘practise what you preach’ after all, you have an audience now and people who look up to you.
